The station of Milan center is 220,000 km sq of area and is the second biggest station in Italy after Roma termini.  The station of Milan joins the city to the North of Europe and the rest of the country.
From the station there are also shuttle buses which connects it to the airports Malpensa and linate and to the metropolitan in which you can get easily to any part of the city.  Always thanks to its central position you find a large range of various hotels, but also of shops and restaurants.
Milano/Monza, the first train line was inaugurated in 1840, whilst the first train station done by the architect Bouchot was inaugurated in 1864.  Due to the augmentation of train movement, the state re constructed the station which was then completed in 1911 by the works of Ulisse Stacchine, whom with the project “In motu vita”  won the competition created by the public administration of that time.
After a long period of work, slowed by the war, the definitive inauguration of the central station was done in 1931.
From an architectural point of view you find the various styles which characterize the 900 century and in particularly the “Liberty” and “ L’art Deco”.
Milan center is of the 13 stations of the network of “Grande stazioni” which will have to undergo a re qualification and more so an optimization of its mobility and accessibility. 
From there will also have to augment the pole of services to adequate the desires of the passengers and to upgrade the standard of security.
