       The Duomo  of Milan is the most religious and important monument which symbolizes the  city, and without doubt the main example of the gothic in all of Italy.  From its terrace it is possible to enjoy the  wide view of the city.  The Duomo of  Milan was wanted by the Duce Gian Galeazzo Visconti which made her construction  start in 1386 and finish in the XIX century.   In the period Visconteo the construction was conferred to the well known  artists such as Bramante and Leonardo.    
        The cupola  of the Duomo was constructed by G.A.Amadeo and G.G.Dolcebuono between 1490 and  1500 after a series of discussions and various projects, for which was also  called Leonardo da Vinci.  The steeple  was constructed in the beginning of 500 and is thought to be one of the major  architectural and sculptural work.  For  the construction of the steeple there was to wait until 1775.  The work was finished in 1774 with the famous  Madonna in copper gold.  The finishing of  the Duomo of Milan happened with the erosion of the façade in 1814, period in  which was also put the last cupules, the decoration of the arches and was done  new glasses in romantic style.   
        The Duomo  of Milan passed a wide range of restaurement in 800 following the bombardments  of the second world war.
